{"id":279,"date":"2016-08-02T11:08:32","date_gmt":"2016-08-02T01:08:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/monrealescookinginspirations.com\/?p=279"},"modified":"2021-01-30T09:30:04","modified_gmt":"2021-01-29T22:30:04","slug":"chilli-garlic-prawns-with-fried-rice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/monrealescookinginspirations.com\/index.php\/2016\/08\/02\/chilli-garlic-prawns-with-fried-rice\/","title":{"rendered":"Chilli &#038; Garlic Prawns with fried rice"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_280\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-280\" class=\"wp-image-280 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/monrealescookinginspirations.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Chilli-prawns-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"Chilli prawns\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/monrealescookinginspirations.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Chilli-prawns-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/monrealescookinginspirations.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Chilli-prawns-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/monrealescookinginspirations.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Chilli-prawns-768x768.jpg 768w, https:\/\/monrealescookinginspirations.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Chilli-prawns-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/monrealescookinginspirations.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Chilli-prawns.jpg 1250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-280\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Chilli &amp; Garlic Prawns with fried rice<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>I often make fried rice, but when I serve it with chilli and garlic prawns they really enhance each other.\u00a0 I once served them with saut\u00e9ed scallops\u00a0to a client who could afford to eat anywhere in the world and he wanted to come back for more&#8230;.I was so pleased, that&#8217;s what it&#8217;s about.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>500gms green prawns &#8211; shelled with tail left on<\/li>\n<li>2 long red chillies &#8211; chopped finely<\/li>\n<li>2 cloves garlic &#8211; crushed<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsp olive oil<\/li>\n<li>Sea salt &amp; pepper<\/li>\n<li>25gms butter<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd cup chopped parsley<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>Method<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In\u00a0a bowl toss prawns, chillies, garlic, olive oil, salt &amp; pepper.<\/li>\n<li>Heat a\u00a0large frypan, when hot add butter until it melts and foams,\u00a0then\u00a0and prawn &amp; marinade\u00a0and cook tossing often for 3 minutes until cooked.<\/li>\n<li>Remove from pan and put into warmed serving dish, sprinkle with chopped parsley for freshness.\u00a0The prawns are ready when they change colour.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Fried rice:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 cup Basmati rice &#8211; rinsed<\/li>\n<li>1 egg &#8211; beaten<\/li>\n<li>2 green shallots &#8211; sliced<\/li>\n<li>3 rashers of bacon &#8211; chopped and rind removed<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp grated ginger<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp soy sauce<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsp canola or vegetable oil<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Cook rice in a large pot of boiling salted water until just done, still\u00a0slightly hard in centre.<\/li>\n<li>Drain and place on a large plate to cool and dry out for 10 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Add a dash of canola oil to a non-stick saucepan and pour in in egg cook on low heat until set.\u00a0 Remove from pan with spatula.\u00a0 Wipe pan out.<\/li>\n<li>Add another dash of oil and cook bacon until slightly crispy.<\/li>\n<li>Add shallots and ginger and cook for 2 mins until soft.<\/li>\n<li>Add rice\u00a0and stir fry until heated through.<\/li>\n<li>Add egg and soy sauce and toss through.\u00a0 Make sure you stir often so it doesn&#8217;t stick, or become hard.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Serve with <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">chilli<\/span> and garlic prawns and enjoy!!!<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Please leave a comment if you have enjoyed my recipe so I know if I am making people ha<\/span>ppy \u2764\ufe0f\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I often make fried rice, but when I serve it with chilli and garlic prawns they really enhance each other.\u00a0 I once served them with saut\u00e9ed scallops\u00a0to a client who could afford to eat anywhere in the world and he wanted to come back for more&#8230;.I was so pleased, that&#8217;s what it&#8217;s about.
